A pioneer in experiential marketing, Max’s career in advertising spans the course of 20 years. Max joined the Peace Corps shortly after college, and credits this experience as the epiphany that sparked his desire to provide tangible good in the lives of those around him. Since beginning his career as a marketing journalist, Max founded and spearheaded Gearwerx – one of Canada’s first experiential marketing agencies. He’s also held leadership positions at MDC Partners’ The Arsenal, CP+B and GMR marketing – the world’s largest experiential marketing agency.
As an accomplished strategist, social entrepreneur and (recovering) journalist, Jim is no stranger to taking innovative ideas and transforming them into reality. With over 20 years of industry experience, Jim has held senior roles at acclaimed agencies CP+B and TDA_Boulder. His achievements have been recognized in multiple industries, making him a force to be reckoned with.
Jenny is a passionate integrated marketing veteran with over 20 years of experience in a variety of industries and nonprofits, including General Mills, Walmart, UnitedHealth Group and The American Cancer Society. Energized by business environments built on collaboration and innovative thinking, Jenny’s breadth of experiences keeps her focused on the essence of the business problem regardless of the industry.
Courtenay’s long history of social work experience is a testament to her lifelong dedication to purpose. For the majority of her career, Courtenay has worked as a social worker and therapist. Always seeking to challenge herself, she joined School when it was still a fledgling start-up, and has served as its Operations Director ever since.
Bridget’s strong portfolio of work spanning 20 years and numerous industries signifies purpose at every turn. From her work with Ronald McDonald House Charities to her experience in the CPG, education and tourism sectors, Bridget has maintained a great love and sense for how companies can make a difference in people's lives. Her data savvy and understanding of what it takes to turn creative, media and digital strategies into effective campaigns make her a powerful part of the School team.
Julie’s passion lies in translating brand beliefs into authentic engagement experiences. Throughout her career, Julie has stewarded brand-defining campaigns for a handful of Fortune 500 clients; forged client relationships with top customers including Amazon, Walmart and Best Buy; and developed marketing campaigns and new business solutions for clients across the healthcare, entertainment and beverage industries.
Having a strong passion for experiential marketing and bringing invigorating ideas to life, Jon naturally found his place at School. Jon’s past experience includes managing experiential tours both on the road and in-house, and working with big-name brands such as PlayStation and Sony Music. He now works as Program Director for School, stewarding events for Beam Suntory brands Toki and Hornitos.
Becky Herman is an account director extraordinaire, having that role in Boulder’s best agencies like CP+B, Grenadier, Made Movement and Victors & Spoils. We are extremely pleased that she has found a home at School to work on purpose projects and campaigns with us.
Ben began his journey in advertising at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he excelled in the university’s advertising program. While still a student, he found his place at School as a copywriting intern, honing his skills in wordsmithing and making friends with the office dogs. He now serves as School’s Creative Director for copy.
Originally from the eastern plains of Colorado, Mason serves as School’s Creative Director for art and design. A force in all things artwork, Mason specializes in visually bringing School’s creative articulations to life, leading the looks for clients such as Hershey's CSR web redesign, and experiential creative for Beam Suntory clients. All of his houseplants are doing well.
Summer has left her fingerprints on a variety of brands, making her a cultivated Program Director for School. She has previously served as Producer for DAYBREAKER, an early morning dance movement in 17 cities around the world; Producer for First Bite Boulder, an annual event highlighting the Boulder dining scene; and Director of Partner Relations for the Conscious Cleanse, a program that helps members eat their way to optimal health and wellness.
Emily has worked on digital, print and experiential initiatives at ad agencies, media companies and tech startups. She specializes in marketing, product, content and strategy and has launched and managed initiatives from start-to-finish for clients such as Kraft, Nestlé, Lowe's, Walgreens, CNN and Time Inc.
Nicole’s multifaceted background has proved to be an asset in her role as studio manager since she joined the School team. She holds a bachelor’s of science in Natural Resource Management, and is pursuing a degree in Web Development with a focus in Graphic Design. Ever a helper, in her previous ventures Nicole has worked in everything from massage therapy specializing in rehabilitation after car accidents and sports injury to running a conservation easement program.
After growing up in sunny Montrose, Colorado, Riley now serves as an Art Director here at School. Riley graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder and is a One Show Young Ones Merit Award Winner. He specializes in generating groundbreaking creative concepts and graphic design. Riley has a unique take on the world and is always happy to get into a friendly debate about anything from a controversial piece of advertising, to getting the most bang for your buck at Illegal Pete’s and everything in between.
She grew up in the land of 10,000 lakes and purple rain, but was always drawn to the mountains. She followed the call and double majored in Advertising & Psychology at CU Boulder and is currently working as a junior copywriter for School with her howling hound Opie. She gives a shit about fighting human trafficking, her country (she serves in the National Guard), and brewing booch.
